Online Education Expansion

Using computers to enhance education has been around as long as the personal computer has. In fact, when the Internet began to be used publicly, online learning tools developed almost immediately. At first, most were for personal enrichment, but university courses soon followed. CALCampus has been around since 1994, Blackboard since 1997, and Moodle since 2001.

In the past ten years, we’ve seen online education change to where you can get an entire university degree online, and more classes have started to be offered for middle and high schoolers. In many states, public school is even offered online now. Even students in elementary school have been using online resources in education, albeit with supervision.

Social Blade PrekToday, we are proud to announce a new development in online learning. In an effort to provide services to our members, and the continued growth of Social Blade, we are soon launching Social Blade Pre-K. This is an innovative program combining video and fun games designed for preschoolers, and is conveniently accessed from home. We have a strong emphasis on math in our curriculum, and our unique approach to teaching the alphabet also teaches children some very basic Internet principles.

Worried about socialization? We have that covered! Preschoolers meet everyday in Google Hangouts moderated by a certified Preschool teacher. We plan virtual field trips that allow the children to go to places they couldn’t in a conventional classroom, and also schedule meet-ups throughout the year to coincide with their parents’ YouTube meet-ups.

As part of the development of this program, we are accepting applications for a limited number of children to participate at no charge to assist in the beta testing, with the public release being the 2013-14 school year. We are anticipating a high demand for Social Blade Pre-K, so plan ahead and apply for a spot today!
