About the Mario Marathon

The Mario Marathon, now entering its 5th year in a row has raised over $238,000 (years 1-4) for the Child's Play Charity by playing mario games and streaming it live on the Internet. Child's Play is an official government recognized (i.e. you can deduct donations from your taxes) charity run by Penny Arcade that donates video games, toys, books, etc to sick kids in children's hospitals all around the world.

This year the marathon has set up a way to donate, still directly to the charity but to have donations logged through websites so we can have our own scoreboards and as a result, SocialBlade, where we have been supporters since day 1 of year 1 have commited to matching your donations up to $100 for every full day the marathon goes on this year! Usually the marathon lasts at least 5 days so this means together we can raise at least $1000, hopefully much more!

Thanks so much for helping support this awesome cause. While you won't persoanlly see the effects you have on the children that get your donations know that medicine can only do so much in helping children recover. Happiness in the form of a book, game, etc has been proven to help the healing as well! Thanks again! --SocialBlade
