[Satire] Today, if you haven’t been living under a social media rock you would be aware that Digg has launched the long awaited 4.0 version of their site which has been said to change everything.  While the initial rollout is complete users are still experiencing key functionality issues such as being able to pull up the news or search or even digg and Social Blade has figured out why, they’re using editors now!

While Digg has not explicitly stated that they are using editors we provide the following pieces of evidence and ask you the reader to evaluate this for yourself.

Exhibit 1: Digg Is Hiring

On their company about page they clearly indicate they are hiring new employees, and they have been hiring for the entire time the new digg has been development.

Exhibit 2: Update: Digg’s adding 30 more servers

Kevin Rose tweets that in order to handle the server load they are adding 30 more “servers”.  Surely digg should have anticipated the traffic load that they would get on launch day since they themselves send massive amounts of traffic to sites every day so this can’t possibly mean they are at Walmart shopping the blue light special to find 30 more computers.

Exhibit 3: Picture From Digg HQ from today

Kevin Rose also tweeted this image earlier today from Digg HQ. Look at all the employees ready to serve up the news stories as they come in.  Too bad they didn’t have the extra 30 “servers” ready earlier!

So now that you have all the facts make up your mind for yourself.  I am fairly confident you will come to the same conclusion as I have, that even if did not have a secret team of editors in the past, that’s the new spice they’ve added to the new digg 4.0!

(Please note, this post was written as satire/humor and should not be taken too seriously.  Stop back Thursday at 10pm Eastern for our live show discussing our REAL thoughts on the new Digg 4.0)
