On this weeks show we discussed our feelings on the BreakingNews Twitter account’s takeover by MSNBC, Digg’s push to the real time, Web 2.0 Suicide and a whole lot more before we were joined by our guest Mitch Maddox aka the DotComGuy. Mitch was a pioneer in the online video and life-casting field when for the entire year of 2000 he had broadcast streaming video of himself 24/7 whilst being locked inside his Dallas home. Mitch shared some insight into how and why he did it, and his views on the future of online video as a whole and how it is so different now then it was a decade ago.

Digg is looking to step up it’s game by possibly adding link-sharing data from other Social Networks such as; Facebook and Twitter. This according to Digg Founder, Kevin Rose.

Social Media and Mobile Technology are the exception. According to a report by Indeed, 7 of the 10 fastest growing opportunities of 2009 were social media or mobile-tech related, with Twitter showing the strongest growth.

Last month MSNBC acquired @BreakingNews on Twitter and to follow up, they have bought BreakingNews.com. They plan to develop the website as a compliment to the feed.

In the hopes of Seesmic becoming your default browser, according to founder Loic Le Meur, they have looked beyond Twitter and purchased Ping.fm, a status update service that allows you to update your statues on over 50 social networking sites.
