For some reason this week there seemed to be a lot of negative stories from serious stories where people were getting arrested (even almost our cohost JD Rucker in vegas!) to burying on facebook but we also lightened up the show with some stories about sex in social media. Also, did you know that 46% of Businesses Watch Social Blade? Okay, maybe not really (yet), but they should!! Watch the show and you’ll find out why.

A Thumb Down Button For Facebook Posts?
Many of us tend to like our friends Facebook posts and we tend to click that “like” button when we do. But what if there was a way to click “dislike” for posts that annoy us, such as, “my day sucks, I hate my job and my dog just peed on the carpet”, you know those posts that are negative and repetitive, just to name one of the trillion posts that you wish would stop clogging up your feed.
Threadsy, a company which puts e-mails and social networks in one stream is experimenting with a much wanted dislike button for posts that are
lame. Now, Facebook does have a “hide” button for the posts that you aren’t thrilled to see, which will then bury that post from your feed, a nice way of not offending anyone. Threadsy wants to help you be forward about what you don’t like, and once you do, it will have a link that lands at a Threadsy page reading. However, if you like the idea but want to keep it anonymous then there is an app for that, It wouldn’t be Facebook if it didn’t right? It is still in private beta but after visiting the website you can get your invite to try it out. So, what do we think of the idea of having a thumbs down button? Would you make and exception to your “no apps” rule?

Twitter Suspends Researcher Over Security Warning
Mikko Hypponen, ( Miko Hypo-nen)  chief research officer at F-Secure, was told he was suspended for posting a message containing the URL to a site containing malware. On August 3, Hypponen posted a Twitter message reading: “I guess somebody will fall for it … a desperate Myspace phishing site at www. rnyspece. com. (don’t go there).” Leaving out the http, however that did not stop Twitter from suspending his account. Hypponen was surprised, since he had worked with Twitter in the past in regards to worms and various other matters, and was only trying to warn people. He has regained his account since this incident.

Woman Arrested For Facebook Poke (no it wasn’t Erin)
Can you be arrested for poking someone on Facebook? The answer is, yes and it could be costly too! Especially if you have a restraining order against you, like Shannon D. Jackson of Hendersonville, Tennessee who didn’t think that “no contact” in the restraining order against an unknown woman included poking. Unfortunately for this individual if found guilty, could spend 29 days in jail and be fined up to $2,500. Jackson was jailed on September 25th with a bail set for $1,500.

New Study Shows That Under 35′s Love To Twitter After Sex
What to do after sex? hmmmm…how about Tweet or post an update on Facebook? It sounds strange but 36% of us, under the age of 35 do it right after we “do it”, according to a recent study done by a computer electronics site, Retrevo, best known for last February’s Coupon Exchange Program for the DTV converter box. The study came from 771 demographically diverse individuals that seem to get their rocks off on Social Networking sites, right after intercourse. You can find other stats such as, 64% of us like to update statuses from work and 30% will do so while on a date, which I am sure that is a major turn off and will be left out of the 36% of those who are having sex. Speaking of S.E.X, there is a site that allows you to show on a map where you just had sex, called I Just Made Love. Not only can you show where but, the position, whether it was indoors, outdoors or on a couch, if it was your first time and if you used a condom, how romantic. So not only can you tweet after sex but you can now link followers and friend’s to show the location in which the love making took place, this is what I’d call a modernized “kiss and tell”. Thoughts?

Study: 54% of Workplaces Ban Facebook and Twitter aka 46% of Business’s aren’t stupid
More studies took place by Robert half Technology, an IT staffing company on workplaces banning Twitter and Facebook. 54 percent of U.S. companies say they’ve banned workers from using social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace, while on the job. The fear is that it may distract employees from doing their jobs since the study showed that some use Social Media sites up to two hours a day, while only 10 percent of 1,400 allow full access to Social Networking sites while working.

Facebook Faceoff Woman vs. Facebook and Blockbuster in Violation of Her Privacy
On Friday in Dallas federal court, Harris, Marrio Herrera and Maryam Hosseiny filed a class action complaint against Facebook, claiming that it was engaged in a “civil conspiracy” with Blockbuster to allow interlopers access to a list of their latest video rentals. Because, see, these folks thought they’d rented their movies in private. But Blockbuster and Facebook — using something called Beacon, which allowed for the third-party sharing of private info unless you opted out, except nobody knew they could opt out — had other intentions. The entire complaint is after the jump. I don’t think they’d mind me sharing it.
