Social Media has changed the way we view the world. It has created a new platform for the way we receive information, the way we share news, videos, images and the way we interact with one another as a whole. For the majority that use Social Media, whatever your social love of choice is, whether it be,  Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Reddit, Linkedin or any other Social Networking site, you instantaneously become a part of that community.

As we know in real life, communities can be fun and naturally, it is normal to become integrated into. However, as in real life, in Social Media, there is a dark side. This dark side is caused due to people who choose to use their influence to take advantage of others that friend them or follow them. Unlike real life, Social Media can create instant credibility, can make your name a brand, and can easily cause you to trust someone you have never met. Once you go viral and people start recognizing that you’re popular, it’s much like the television show theme song for Cheers, “Where everybody wants to know you’re name.”

Social Blade Covering The Dark Side to Social Media

As in “The Curious Case of Aloha Arleen Anderson”, The Social Blade Show takes on various alleged accusations towards @AlohaArleen, a person on Twitter that has been, according to those interviewed, scamming others out of money. Though the show asked Ms. Anderson to take part, she declined but made this statement:

I would have enjoyed being on the show with you, JD, but I have been advised not to engage with them. Please note that in the very near future all will be made clear and it will be shown that doing more thorough investigation is a sound practice.

As you will see in this clip from Social Blade Episode 10, Social Media is definitely the way of the future, but to be reminded as in any Social situation, there is always a joker to its batman.
