UPDATE: Josh Charles attended the Mashable Tweetup Tour in NYC last night ( July 27th ) and performed his song “Healing Time”.
Sometimes it’s not where you’re born that grounds you; sometimes it’s the universe that urges you to go places to embed your own roots. That is the case of singer and songwriter, Josh Charles.
Josh was born in California and raised in Kansas City Missouri; however his heart took him to New Orleans, Louisiana. This occurred at the same time Hurricane Katrina hit the State. Although much was destroyed, Josh’s spirits were not. He wrote a song titled “Healing Time” to help those much like himself, get through the devastation. As we are approaching the 4 year anniversary of Katrina on August 29th 2009, the awareness is still needed, for many survivor’s are in need of rebuilding homes and smiles. Josh has created a way unlike any other artist to help us contribute to restoring the beauty that is New Orleans.
How? One Hundred Percent of his proceeds from his song “Healing Time” will be given to The Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans, which has a 35 year history of helping New Orleans resident’s and is the leading Organization that is helping Katrina survivor’s rebuild their lives.
